Oxford Model United Nations, an Oxford Global initiative, is the largest high school Model UN conference in the UK, consisting of delegates attending from across Europe, Asia, and North America. Every year in November, the historic and magnificent University of Oxford brings together students from across the world. OxfordMUN places great emphasis on the in-depth examination and discussion of pressing issues such as international peace and security as well as economic and social progress. During the conference, students learn the importance of balancing national interests with the needs of the international community, while also learning about the powers and limitations of international negotiation.
Oxford Global, in partnership with Worldview, is hosting its first regional OxfordMUN in Singapore from 9–11 October 2019, at Suntec City Convention Centre, Singapore. We are incredibly excited to bring this international Model UN experience to schools and students in South Asia. In its inaugural year, OxfordMUN Singapore aims to bridge the physical gap between nations, delegates, and all participants alike, creating a truly international forum that embodies a sense of global community, collaboration, and social responsibility. Delegates will be exposed to a network of peers, educators, and change makers from private and government organisations, to inspire their ideas and actions. They will be able to meaningfully explore different cultures, engage with pressing issues, and create memories for a lifetime.
